When I paint every day, one of the challenges is finding subjects that really gets me exited to paint. Lately, for the Strada easel challenge, I’ve been all about painting different winter accessories.
Turns out, I’m totally into playing with different textures and fabrics. Faux fur, in particular, is my new found interest—it’s like painting animals, and now I can’t wait to do more of that.
If you’re into painting fabrics and textures, here’s a tip: don’t get stuck thinking about painting the fabric itself. Instead, focus on the shapes and shadows it throws.
